The Academy is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, flexible and proactive individual to be one of two study coordinators who oversee the daily management of the Sixth Form study area and to provide academic administrative support to and promote a positive study ethic amongst sixth form students in a highly successful and vibrant Sixth Form Centre. The appointee will take a leading role in supporting students and staff to prepare university applications, mentoring students’ academic performance, and pastoral care.

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level and must be computer literate (experience with Microsoft Excel is essential), extremely well organised and able to empathise with the needs of Sixth Form students.  Experience of working within a school environment or with young people would be a distinct advantage. The successful applicant will be part of a dedicated Sixth Form Management Team and must have a genuine belief in the capacity our students have to achieve their ambitions and enjoy working with young adults

Part Time Sixth Form Attendance Coordinator

The Academy is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, flexible and proactive individual to be responsible for monitoring Sixth Form student attendance and to oversee management of the Sixth Form study area each morning. The role will involve daily monitoring of student attendance and intervening to tackle instances of poor attendance or punctuality. In addition, the appointee will work closely with and provide administrative support to other members of the Sixth Form Management Team. The role will primarily be based in the Sixth Form study area, where the appointee will oversee students and promote a positive working environment as they complete independent study. 

The successful candidate should have excellent personal organisation, written and spoken communication and ICT skills (experience with Microsoft Excel is essential).  He or she will have the ability to communicate confidently with staff, parents/carers and other adults in a range of formal and informal settings as well as the ability to empathise with the needs of Sixth Form students.  Experience of working within a school environment or with young people would be a distinct advantage. We are looking to recruit an experienced cook to join our busy restaurant team at Ashcroft Technology Academy. Working under the Restaurant Manager, the successful candidate will be required to plan, prepare and cook meals for students and staff and have responsibility for various kitchen duties. We are looking for someone with good organisation and communication skills who has experience of working in a pressured kitchen environment. The main duties include the day to day planning, preparation and cooking of meals to meet the needs of its users. Other duties will include the responsibility for kitchen duties such as cleaning; monitoring stock levels; and ensuring all kitchen equipment is suitably maintained to ensure a high standard of hygiene is maintained and complied with. The role is very hands on and would ideally suit someone who has catered for large volume and with the relevant catering qualifications.

Ashcroft Technology Academy is extremely popular and is very heavily oversubscribed for places. It also had an excellent track record of public examination results and high standards of student behaviour. The Academy also has an excellent reputation for its catering provision and is popular with students.

Exam Invigilators

£11.25 ph

Ashcroft Technology Academy is looking to expand its Exam Invigilator team. Applicants should be enthusiastic, diligent and vigilant with an eye for detail and good communication skills.  Previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable although training on the Joint Council of Qualifications standards and regulations will be provided. This is a term-time only post on a flexible and variable hour’s basis.

Appointees will be required to invigilate exams, collect and collate exam papers and work with the Exams Manager to ensure JCQ regulations are adhered to.  They will also be required to support the smooth running of exams within the Special Educational Needs department. Morning sessions are usually between 08:00 and 12:00 while the afternoons typically operate from 13:00 until 17:00, depending on exam length and clashes. Invigilators may be scheduled to work a full or half day.

Applicants should be available for the morning of the 3rd of April for an introductory training session. This session will run from 09:00 until 11:30 and will be paid.

Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is looking to appoint replacement TLAs to support teaching provision for those students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Special Educational Needs.

The postholders will provide flexible support to students with Education Health and Care Plans. Successful applicants will support a range of students in and out of the classroom, ensuring that learners with special needs have full access to the National Curriculum.

Applicants will be expected to have good literacy/numeracy skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment. They should possess excellent personal organisation and ICT skills and have the ability to liaise confidently with staff, parents/carers and external agencies in a commitment to raise student achievement. An ability to identify barriers to student learning and to develop ways of overcoming these is essential. The successful applicants will be confident in working with young people in a school environment and with students who may be in difficult circumstances.

All posts are 36½ hrs per week for 40 weeks per year although part time working may also be considered. Some flexibility in working hours will be required including supporting a few evening meetings during the academic year.

Ashcroft Technology Academy is seeking to recruit additional cleaning staff to join our existing team in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness in place at the Academy. Applicants should be self-motivated, flexible and take pride in their work.

As well as an excellent rate of pay, part time cleaning staff are employed across the entire year and are entitled to 22 days leave per annum rising to 25 in stages after 5 years’ service. Flexibility on when the hours are worked during term breaks is provided to suit individual requirements.  Term-time only applicants will be considered, as will the opportunity to work extended hours in the evening if required. Staff are also able to benefit from an annual attendance reward scheme.
