Ashcroft Technology Academy is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, flexible and enthusiastic Performing Arts Technician to join a vibrant and superbly resourced Performing Arts department.  This is a part-time role (3 days per week), so, in order to make the role a full-time position, it is combined with Teaching and Learning support in our SEN department. 

The successful candidate will:

  • enjoy working with young people in the field of music and those with additional needs
  • be extremely well organised and highly motivated
  • be able to work well in teams
  • be an excellent communicator
  • be a creative and adaptable person, committed to learning new skills and sharing their expertise with others

The successful candidate will also have experience of working in a recording studio environment, rigging and programming stage lighting and of live sound reinforcement. 

They should be:

  • familiar with both the Windows and OSX operating systems, and be proficient in the use of Logic Pro. 
  • able to diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems and coordinate the maintenance of equipment and instruments in the department. 
  • able to contribute to our extra-curricular programme

Where necessary, training will be provided, particularly in relation to Health & Safety practices.

Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is looking to appoint replacement TLAs to support teaching provision for those students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Special Educational Needs.

The postholders will provide flexible support to students with Education Health and Care Plans. Successful applicants will support a range of students in and out of the classroom, ensuring that learners with special needs have full access to the National Curriculum.

Applicants will be expected to have good literacy/numeracy skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment. They should possess excellent personal organisation and ICT skills and have the ability to liaise confidently with staff, parents/carers and external agencies in a commitment to raise student achievement. An ability to identify barriers to student learning and to develop ways of overcoming these is essential. The successful applicants will be confident in working with young people in a school environment and with students who may be in difficult circumstances.

All posts are 36½ hrs per week for 40 weeks per year although part time working may also be considered. Some flexibility in working hours will be required including supporting a few evening meetings during the academic year.

Learning Resources Assistant
 

  • 36.5 hours per week for 42 weeks per year

  • Includes coverage of the LRC during the Easter break for revision

  • Starting salary £22,000 inclusive of holiday pay (pay review pending)

With 1,400 students aged 11 – 18, Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is seeking to appoint a Resources Assistant to join the Library and Learning Resources (LRC) team. The LRC provision at ATA enjoys a high profile status, is highly resourced and extremely well used.

The successful candidate will have an administrative background, experience of and an interest in working with young people. The post offers a busy learning environment, with a varied workload requiring flexibility and good organisational skills as well as competence in the use of computers.  Library experience and/or supervision of groups of students would be an advantage. Training opportunities will be provided, particularly to those wishing to develop a career within librarianship.

You will form part of a small and friendly team providing books and media material to students and staff. There will be desk duties using the automated library system (training will be given), administrative and office duties, preparation of new resources and the supervision and support of students.

We are looking to recruit an experienced cook to join our busy restaurant team at Ashcroft Technology Academy. Working under the Restaurant Manager, the successful candidate will be required to plan, prepare and cook meals for students and staff and have responsibility for various kitchen duties. We are looking for someone with good organisation and communication skills who has experience of working in a pressured kitchen environment. The main duties include the day to day planning, preparation and cooking of meals to meet the needs of its users. Other duties will include the responsibility for kitchen duties such as cleaning; monitoring stock levels; and ensuring all kitchen equipment is suitably maintained to ensure a high standard of hygiene is maintained and complied with. The role is very hands on and would ideally suit someone who has catered for large volume and with the relevant catering qualifications.

Ashcroft Technology Academy is seeking to recruit additional cleaning staff to join our existing team in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness in place at the Academy. Applicants should be self-motivated, flexible and take pride in their work.

As well as an excellent rate of pay, part time cleaning staff are employed across the entire year and are entitled to 22 days leave per annum rising to 25 in stages after 5 years’ service. Flexibility on when the hours are worked during term breaks is provided to suit individual requirements.  Term-time only applicants will be considered, as will the opportunity to work extended hours in the evening if required. Staff are also able to benefit from an annual attendance reward scheme.
