Design & Technology Technician

22.5 hrs per week term time only

  • Term Time Salary: £17,000 circa pro rata (Full time equivalent £31,417).

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to provide technical support for a busy team of teachers delivering Design & Technology. Knowledge and experience of supporting across the Technology department, particular experience and/or interest in Textiles would be an advantage although training will be provided.

  • Reports to the Lead Technician for the Arts and Technology
  • Preparation of resources, principally across Textiles.
  • In-class support where required. 
  • Support the management of displays and promotional materials for open days, Arts Week and any external events.  
  • Support the day-to-day maintenance of the classrooms and prep rooms within the department.

Lead Technician for the Arts and Technology

  • Starting Salary: £39,693 per annum (pay review 1st September)

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Art and Technology specialist to provide technical support for a busy team of teachers delivering Art & Technology (Art, Food and Design and Technology).

  • Reports to the Curriculum Manager for Arts and Technology.  
  • Responsibility for other technician team members across the department. 
  • Preparation of resources across all three disciplines – Art, Food Technology and Design and Technology.  
  • In-class support where required across all disciplines. 
  • Responsibility for displays and support with promotional materials for open days, Arts Week and any external events.  
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the classrooms and prep rooms for Art, Food and Design and Technology. 
  • Responsible for ensuring health and safety standards are maintained including: risk assessments, incident reporting and maintenance of all machinery and equipment.  
  • Previous technical experience and training is essential although refresher training and further self-development opportunities will be provided.
  • Responsibility for the department ordering and budget monitoring

Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is seeking to appoint a Secretary/Administrator to work within the main Academy Administration office.  The successful applicant will have experience of working within an office environment, applicants should possess excellent personal organisation, written and spoken communication and ICT skills.  He or she will have the ability to communicate confidently with staff, students and parents.
