With 1,500 students aged 11 – 18, Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is seeking to appoint a Part Time Learning Resources Assistant to join the Library and Learning Resources (LRC) team. The LRC provision across 2 centres at ATA continues to enjoy high profile status, is highly resourced and extremely well used by students.

The successful candidate will have an administrative background, experience of and an interest in working with young people. The post offers a busy learning environment, with a varied workload requiring flexibility and good organisational skills as well as competence in the use of computers.  Library and/or supervisory experience of groups of students would be an advantage. Training opportunities will be provided, particularly to those wishing to develop a career within librarianship.

You will form part of a small and friendly team providing books and media material to students and staff and management of the computer facilities within the area. There will be desk duties using the automated library system (training will be given), administrative and office duties, preparation of new resources and the supervision and support of students.

Examinations Invigilator
 

  • Hourly Rate £13.00 p/h

  • Paid Training Morning
     

An Invigilator is responsible for maintaining the security of the question papers at all times and conducting exams in accordance to the Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) and International Baccalaureate (IB) regulations. Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is seeking to appoint an additional member to join their Inclusive Care and Support team in providing support for students at risk of underachieving. The successful applicant will have experience of working with young people in a school environment and who feels confident in dealing with students who may be in difficult circumstances or who display challenging behaviour. The successful applicant will also be expected to work with the Heads of Year, Leadership Group and staff accommodate students as necessary such that they are integrated back in to mainstream school as and when appropriate.

Applicants will be expected to have good literacy/numeracy skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment. They should possess excellent personal organisation and ICT skills and have the ability to liaise confidently with staff, parents/carers and external agencies in a commitment to raise student achievement. An ability to identify barriers to student learning and to develop ways of overcoming these is essential. The successful applicant will be confident in working with young people in a school environment and with students who may be in difficult circumstances.

All posts are 36½ hrs per week for 40 weeks per year. Some flexibility in working hours will be required including supporting a few evening meetings during the academic year.
