The successful candidate for this significant middle management position will have significant experience and qualifications in this line of work. They will possess an all-round working knowledge of site related matters and the ability to lead, develop and manage a dedicated team of premises assistants and day-time cleaning staff as well as overall responsibility for a team of early morning and evening part-time cleaners. The manager will be the main key holder for the site, will have a high-level understanding of both maintenance work and health and safety and have the appropriate communication skills to liaise with a range of clients including staff, students, contractors and hirers. 

The Academy places great importance on its appearance and dedicates an annual budget to ensure this is maintained to high order and it is expected that the postholder will share the same vision. You will have a proactive management style, be organised, approachable and a team player. Experience of such a role within a school or similar environment would be an advantage. You will report directly to the Vice-Principal at the Academy.

Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is seeking to appoint an additional member to join their Inclusive Care and Support team in providing support for students at risk of underachieving. The successful applicant will have experience of working with young people in a school environment and who feels confident in dealing with students who may be in difficult circumstances or who display challenging behaviour. The successful applicant will also be expected to work with the Heads of Year, Leadership Group and staff accommodate students as necessary such that they are integrated back in to mainstream school as and when appropriate.

Applicants will be expected to have good literacy/numeracy skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment. They should possess excellent personal organisation and ICT skills and have the ability to liaise confidently with staff, parents/carers and external agencies in a commitment to raise student achievement. An ability to identify barriers to student learning and to develop ways of overcoming these is essential. The successful applicant will be confident in working with young people in a school environment and with students who may be in difficult circumstances.

All posts are 36½ hrs per week for 40 weeks per year. Some flexibility in working hours will be required including supporting a few evening meetings during the academic year.
