An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a highly qualified, skilled, and experienced practitioner to lead our vibrant and successful English department at one of the highest performing academies in the country. Ashcroft Technology Academy, an outstanding school (Ofsted 2021), seeks a dedicated and dynamic Curriculum Manager of English and Media to lead our team of 14 English teachers through the next stage of its development.
As Curriculum Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of English education in an Academy that is known for its high standards of behaviour, a strong commitment to academic excellence, and a relentless ambition to transform the lives of all students, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The ambition of our enthusiastic and committed teachers is clear: we believe that a child’s home circumstances do not have to be a barrier to exceptional success. The successful candidate will share this vision and be committed to delivering high standards of achievement for all our students.
The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher with a deep understanding of how students learn and how to deliver the English curriculum in our Academy in the most effective way. You will not be afraid of hard work, and you will have a strong focus on high expectations, reflective practice, and a commitment to your own professional development, as well as the development of the teachers in the English and Media department. You will have the chance to think critically about what makes for great teaching and become a better teacher through a culture of continuous professional growth.
We are looking for a leader who is eager to own their department, build trust and positive relationships with their team and with the students. The relationships between staff and students are exceptional, and we want someone who will build on this by fostering an environment where teachers feel empowered to be themselves, work collaboratively, innovate together, and deliver creative lessons together.
