Fun Run

The Academy organises a biennial Fun Run to help raise funds on behalf of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. This year the Fun Run took place on Monday 18th June 2018 and as usual parents and carers were invited to take part.

The Fun Run began in the grounds of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability continued on a fully monitored route around Wimbledon Common, returning to the hospital for the finish line having covered a distance of approximately 4 kilometres.

This was the 11th Fun Run and this year the event raised £5750 with over 500 runners taking part, including staff, students, governors of the Academy, and many parents.

The money raised will be used in the rehabilitation of patients and will help to continue the hospital’s work in training, research and development.  The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability focuses on providing help and treatment for people with complex or profound disorders or damage to the nervous system, such as that caused by Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, or serious head injuries.  For further information about the work of the hospital please have a look at their web site:  http://www.rhncharity.org.uk/
